Dirt: Secrets in the Soil

Participants will be up to their elbows in the study of soil as we explore authentic, hands-on learning activities that can be used to engage students with an understanding of how soils are formed, soil components, soil types, and erosion. These targeted core curriculum instructional resources will provide teachers with new ideas, activities, and tools to build greater understanding and retention among students in the area of soil science. Participants will receive curriculum materials and a classroom soils kit. (WANT TO CONTACT AND CHANGE TO 1st 30 to get resources) This workshop is designed for fourth grade teachers and will be limited to 30 participants.
